US-based Valencia Technologies is a neuromodulation company transforming the standard of care for bladder dysfunction. Skin patches, vaginal seals and pads can be a burden for anyone who is dealing with urinary incontinence on a daily basis. Incontinence occurs when the muscles around the bladder contract too often or too much.

So Valencia Technologies which is working in this space of healthcare, have recently rolled out a new electrode device which is as small as a nickel and implanted above the ankle to nip the issue in the bud in a more convenient and private way.

eCoin is the first implantable tibial nerve stimulator indicated for treating urge urinary incontinence (UUI) which is FDA approved. eCoin is a coin-sized neurostimulator that is implanted subcutaneously in the lower leg with a minimally invasive outpatient procedure done under local anesthesia.

This device has a primary battery and once programmed, it automatically delivers intermittent stimulation (low-key shocks) to the tibial nerve to reduce UUI symptoms by preventing leaks and constant trips to the toilet. The USP of the device is that a doctor can control the intensity of the pulses with a remote, making it more customizable for a broad range of patients.
